Bags for Rags

As we set out for 2018, what was our first project??  Bagging our shirts. Thats' right we bagged our shirts, we counted all of our shirts, reconciled our inventory and put our shirts by groups into bags. Not glamorous stuff, but much needed organization.  After our first year of doing sales at different makers and artisan fairs, we came away with of course a few changes we wanted to make. One of which was reducing the amount of shirts we took with us to each event.  We would show up with well over 1000 shirts, we did make a lot of sales, but I don't recall a time we sold 1000 shirts in a day! Wearables Magazine

We were recently featured in Wearables Magazine, which is really exciting for us as an organization! To be recognized for Screen Printing Success is an achievement that makes all the hard work worth it! All of our apparel gets a tagless label printed on the inside of the shirt, near the neck, and we also offer this option when screenprinting for customers. Printing the label, and thus ripping off the tag that came with the shirt, gives the shirt a nice touch of professionalism, and is a way to make the shirt more unique and branded.   The article can be found in the July 2017 Edition here: https://www.asicentral.com/news/magazines/wearables

Venturing into the Unknown

As we continue in part of our quest to be producing the highest quality print possible on t-shirts of equaly high quality we have ventured into new territories of screenprinting: discharge and waterbased inks.  We created a new 'Gloryland' design for some shirts headed for Roatan, Honduras. We did the first prints in a simple black waterbased ink, the turned out really nice.  That was all we had really planned to do...  But with some time left in the day Kent and I decided to have a little fun with the print, we cleaned the screen, and we made some discharge orange ink. Printing Gold

Thinking about printing using gold ink but not sure what the caveats may be? Our advice; go for it!!  We weren't sure about it, but were super impressed by how great and fun it was to print with Gold plastisol ink! Here's what you need to know: Mesh - Lower mesh, we used a 110. Ummm... thats it,  Have fun!  We used a 'Rich Gold Shimmer' plastisol ink that cures at 320. You can pick this up at anthemprinting.com - great product!
